. . .has to be the fucking moon. . .la luna loco. . .crazy damn summer moon has provided for an overwhelming july. . .first there was the longass journey to england which was last week. . .then earlier this week went to a 3-day, 2-nite management touchy-feely retreat on mandalay beach, city of oxnard, ventura county, southern california which was respite with personal issues, personality style conflicts, and too much estrogen goddamnit. . .then on the way back yesterday morning at 10:10am - BAM - i was headed south on the 101 and approaching kanan dune road and being distractd by the firetruck on the other side of the freeway i saw it coming but despite slamming the brakes slammed or more like slide right into the back of a brand new 2003 honda accord. . .PRAISE THE HEAVENS that healthwise we were both all right - no major apparent damage to human physiology save the absolute mental stress and anxiety. . .hell relatively little damage to her car - poor girl i felt SO sorry for her as she was headed to the airport for a long weekend in new mexico. . .but MY car, shit the hood was smooshed, the left headlight obliterated, the radiator pushed in, the front fender demolished. . .and yikes! it still ran. . .so with funky noises galore, i drove it all the fucking way back down to hollywood. . .and after a cooling shower and shave brought it to my honda dealer collision center left it there. . .and got an enterprise rent a silver ford focus. . .my fucking ass geico insurance deductible is a GRAND so this is going to be no easy trick getting it fixed. . .but thank god for last monday when i got my review from my boss and got a whopping 13% raise which brought me just $1k below what i was making at the international house of blues foundation a year ago when i got to SIPA. . .oh well. . .and the month is only half over. . .let us see where else the wonderful summer july silver moon goddess takes me. . .definitely should go to mass tomorrow morning at my parish the church of the blessed sacrament. . it's all interconnected you know. . .GOD BLESS US ALL!!!. . .much love to all of you. . .xoxoxo. . .pete.

. . .CHEERS!. . .yup finally got back very late thursday eve and have been ever busily catching up wit me chores. . .showed up to work slightly exhausted and bleary eyed friday morning to brief with my assistant, meet his new highschool intern assistant, and finish up a dental association foundation grant postmark deadlined for that day. . .then it was off to a great new version of "songs for a new world" at los angeles theatre center downtown all set in the santa maria cafe where the 4 actor/singers just stood up and started singing. . .really cool and what a nice homecoming to the city of angels for me. . .today went off to an anaheim angels vs. minnesota twins game in orange county with me cousins and tripped off to hilo hattie's at the block, l&l hawaiian bbq in huntington beach and played in the pacific ocean for a few minutes as well. . .still so much to deal with on the homefront but am avoiding as to drink in my return to familiar comforts. . .

but i digress. . .how was the jolly ole' united kingdom, you say?. . .well after the challenging journey to birmingham. . .the convention was airight. . .people were enough friendly and although they are quite stodgy in the daytime. . .the nightime entertainment proved much more fun and sociable then one would imagine. . .basically bigass parties with loads of drunkeness and flirtations with DUNCAN on night one and ANTHONY on night two. . .sprinkled with familiarizations with some of the other 1,200 other participants. . .pints the first nite and gin/tonics the second. . .did manage to train up to the city of birmingham on wednesday and walk the promenade tween victoria square and the new mall. . inneresting especially the 38 pounds i spent on the chinese herbalist shitass massage. . .but oh well. . .then came the long journey back starting from my early start at 4:30 am awakening to my final arrival @ lax at 9pm (of course, consider the 12 hour time difference i gained whilst traveling west!). . .all in all, one helluva quick jaunt to england i will soon not forget. . .in fact am planning to return and really do london next spring. . .more comments on traveling , the (yuck!) food, attitudes towards the US, shopping, and more cutie observations to cum. . . 

okay peeps am exhausted and still dealing with my computer that still needs fixing - although got upgraded to windows xp whilst i was gone, the cd rom is now on the fritz and so unable to load the dsl modem software and so using slowass dial-up right now. . .makes it really difficult to read some of y'all's xanga pages with all the stuff to download. . .but oh well. . .back to the REAL world. . .hope all is well with you and yours!. . .xoxoxo

sending this email from "fabulous" hilton birmingham metropole. . .this trip totally reminded me of the time i went from washington d.c. to kansas city to dallas/fortworth to denver to l.a. to honolulu. . .anyways, longass trip but shopping at the toronto airport was fun (canada so cheap! but that airport really needs airconditioning!!!). . .but england is a totally different story. . .the customs line at heathrow on a sunday no less was horrendous!. . .and totally got lost and screwed over cause i bought the heathrow express to euston station rail ticket online but the lady at the ticket counter gave me a ticket only to paddington and of course - was that a major confusion. . .anyways took the stinky london underground (reminded me of the muni? lol!) to euston and after i did "left luggage" wandered over to king's crossing and tavistock garden, etc. . .inneresting that london is. . .but then came the major delayed again yucky virgin train to birmingham international (certainly NOT the nice bart or metro!). . .1 1/2 hours turned into 2 1/2 hours. . .oh well. . .and so after 20 hours of traveling and checking in at the "allright" accomodations, ordered room service and crashed at 5:30pm sunday. . .of course woke up at 12mid now monday. . .and just finished a pint of guiness in the lobby lounge. . .

okay - sorry for the rambling. . .still jet-lagged and exhausted but did want to let you all know i survived. . .and that since my palm pilot is out and i totally forgot to print labels before i left. . .you will not be receiving postcards from the united kingdom. . .but will bring some back and send them from lalaland. . .lol. . .

okay - laters and wish me luck at the next couple of institute of fundraising convention days. . .incidentally, the "scenery" is great and i don't mean the buildings !

. . .had a "punchy" and stressed day. . .stress of course because of england and punchy cause it was the day before july 4. . .(does anyone 25 know what punchy means?  can you believe my 23 y/o assistant had no idea what that meant?). . .anyways, got a great deal @ ross for a new american tourister made by samsonite after work then jetted to acapulco's for happy hour. . .and finally - the reason for the photo above is saw "whale rider" at arclight cinemas and boy was that totally awesome. . .really less about the whales per se but more about the evolution of the maori indigineous people of new zealand and a little girl's struggle for recognition and acceptance by her own grandfather. . .utterly incredible. . .phenomenal. . .can you tell this is how l.a. people talk following a conscious-raising cinematic experience. . .okay nuff said. . .now off to sleepy sleep and tomorrow holds laundry, lunch @ dale's with sylvia, lalee, cindy, and greg and major packing. . .fyi - upon arrival in great britan on saturday, will attempt to blog from an internet cafe if convenient. . .if not, happy weekend everyone and look for me back online next friday, july 11th. . .xoxo. . .
