so the return from paradise has been hectic to say the least. . .busy as hell and mostly mental. . .so the dellxps1210 finally arrived via ups no less and it is a new page in the chapter of this 21st technological age. .. i am now just like those people who sit seemingly aimlessly at the starbucks. . .amazing that i hooked up with this free wifi connection - lots to learn in the now wireless world. .. otherwise - life is swimmingly moving forward.  .albeit with building more debt as predictable could be and the summer blazing hot in lala land. . .xoxoxo. . .

never ceases to amaze me how simply beautiful gorgeous honolulu, oahu, hawaii is. .. here for the the filipino american national historical conference at the ilikai hotel and a subsequent vacation at the parentals abode which so far, has been surprisingly pleasant. . .perhaps they are taking their medication. . .LOL. .. well - lots of stuff happening and to happen so will leave it at that for now and proceed to make some history. . .LOL. . .xoxoxoxo. . ..

okay let me type this all over again since this frickin' keyboard just let me erase tons of type. . .so the arm in sling was the result of over-exertion on my return from a federal grants training in new orleans - what a wonderful and charming and delightful trip that was - stayed at the hotel monteleone right in the french quarter and met some fabulous fellow fundraisers and ate some good food and walked bourbon (no biggie) but the beingets at cafe de monde were good and jefferson square was impressive and the horse carriage ride back on royal street made it all worth it. . .but the trip back was sorta of a nightmare and the luggage became a bear and and so after two trips to the ER in the following days and a couple of painkiller shots and lots of vicadin and a week at home - it is all now a painful memory. . .despite all of this - i did manage to meet all funding deadlines and the month ended with a 48 hour trip to vegas over memorial day weekend with the GAPSN folks and that in itself was a total trip with the rented van and lively conversations with SATRANG (the gay south asian folks) - hindu vs. muslim, indian vs. pakistani, etc.. . .saw kevin and played some roulette at paris and won some more of those lucky silver commemorative coins that feature the asian animal years. . .and the 14 hour ride back!!!. . .so then came june and it has been a whirlwind with the annual CSW gay pride with the API Pride Council and their sea of lanterns and the sucking of various ducks at the API Village booths. . .so zooming to the beginning of summer and the fast, panicked pace at SIPA as joel begins his sabbatical and this past friday's 3rd annual open house merienda reception came and went.  .lots of good funding award news in june as well so that made the end of this fiscal year a little better to swallow. . .leaving for honolulu and the filipino american national historical society conference at the ilikai on wednesday, june 28th and will be vacationing aftewards till friday, july 9th. . .should be interesting to say the least especially since we just got the damn third american express card IN:LA and more resources to blow in the name of fun. . .pray for me. . .xoxoxo. . ..

. .. there went april!!!. . .as usual - the dinner is CRAZY BUSY and this time of year inevitably makes me feel like i am totally overworked and underpaid!!!. . .oh well. . .work, work, work.. .a few nice meals in there thanks to the FABULOUS tax refunds from the state and feds but let's see how long that lasts. . .just have to wait till the bad credit falls off the credit report next year to get good credit line increases on my american express. . .LOL. . .xoxoxo. . .

so less drama this week because you-know-who called in sick but still stress-filled nonetheless what with cbs radio on tuesday and abc7 on wednesday and tce on friday and the dinner stuff all inbetween. . .oh god - will it never end???  lol. . .but it is saturday and after this morning's silent auction sub-committee i suppose the inevitable has dawned that may 7th will be a glorious day lol. . .another week of hell coming up. . .let's see how dinner goes at xiomara tonite. . .whatever. . .and the gapsn board meeting tomorrow. . whatever. . .and whatever the hell is going on with palad and fadc. . .whatever. . .oh - and glad the tie got fixed. . .xoxoxoxo. . ..

it has been HELL week at work. . lots of drama and yelling and stress and down-right near-panic as the budgetary issues come to fore. . .only time will tell how this will all bear out but i am confident at least in one thing that i have in all sincerity and honesty and integrity tried my personal best to cast the net wide so to speak and improved our fund devleopment processes to increase all possible avenues of revenue - i think the bottom line is that the spending has gotten out of control and unfortunatley - it has less to do with me and my department - in fact, i had to notify my manager that she is being put on part-time after our fabulous dinner and will be laid off as of june - so i am certainly doing my part for the cause of downsizing.  . .oh well. . ..peaks and valleys and cyclic funding is what it is all about. . .besides that - went to the cause dinner last nite - interesting - and off to into the woods tonight with sanjay, allen, and ray -should be fun - and maybe will see cousin matthew and sebastien tomorrow nite. . .okay. . .off to the bank. . .xoxoxo. . .

quick blurb just to keep up. . .been a CRAZY BUSY month as it is. . .went to sacramento for the api policy summit and that was an adventure or did i already talk about that?  in any case, the rainy stormy drive from sipa to burbank was a trip and the windy blustery drive in the shitty rental in sacramento and the creepy motel and the unreal sheraton were collectively all a wonderment and of course spending mardi gras there was also a trip.  . .then comes news of aunty dalen's passing so quickly - so sad, so sad, so sad. . .travelled to seattle begging for the credit limit increase on the jetblue amex no less and that was a whirlwind in itself. . .turbulence flights both ways. . .finding my way to extended stay america in kent. . .and then getting lost going to federal way. . .and the wake and funeral both being back to back so to speak was draining and what with all the rain and cold and wind - YIKES. . .but all in all 4 nites in the northwest was interesting with the family buying $700 worth of crabs at lucky's seafood lol. . .but of course most of all is the gentle reminder that i am part of this HUGE family of cousins and siblings and rivalries and drama. . .more about that later - perhaps. . .xoxoxoxo. . .

okay so i guess everyone else is really busy as always. . .seems like the new hot thing is myspace anyways. . .but i personally will always keep this xanga since this is my first cyberblog and has such fond memories. . .lol. . .so lots of stuff going on as always the new year brings.  ..out with the rooster in with the dog. . ..went to sacramento earlier this week for the api policy summit. . .what a drive thru the rain on monday from sipa to burbank.  .and drenched in both cities. . .windy as hell in sac. . .early up for nothing and to the sheraton grande for probably one of the most boring conferences i have ever been to in my life either that or i am just plain sick and bored of going to conferences period. . .although spending mardi gras in the state capital turned out not so bad since we dropped into faces and then to depot and breakfast at lyons. . .all in all hanging with marie, jack, and john was fun. . .the rest of the week was a blur fucking busy as hell at work with site-visits from funders, what seems like a million emails and a thousand telephone calls. . . did a really cool thing tonight after i literally dragged myself out of bed - attended the SUPERNATURAL session of the william s. paley television festival put on by the museum of television and radio at the directors guild of america - all in all really cool and i had a blast seeing and hearing jensen ackles and jared pac whatishname in person. . .dinner at numbers was interested but alfred wanted $250 lol. . ..so comes another busy week and what looks to be a fun oscar party at sanjay's. . .we shall see. . .xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

quick ditty - vd was really cool having dinner with sanjay and tim and getting to know them better although if allen tom showed up that would have been way cooler as well. . .OASIS prix fixe menu was indeed fabulous!. . .oh well. . .last nite's gapsn lunar new year of the dog celebration at THE FORBIDDEN CITY was cool in ambience and service but the appetizers left much to be desired and the turnout although not surprising was disappointing as is the usual case of late but we had dinner at OFF VINE and of course, nick salamone is always the most gracious hostess of hostesses and the souflees are always fucking delicious and make the whole meal worth it all - the lobster bisque was very memorable as well but for some reason the salmon entreee left wanting. . . .gee, talking about restaurants and food is making me hungry but waiting for the supercuts and subway is the order of the day at the moment and off to reconcile gapsn deposit and making ready for sojourn to sacramento tomorrow for api policy summit whatever that is. . .too much traveling. . .speaking of which presidents day in palm springs was overall a lotta learning. . .morongo, cabazon, all worlds resort, etc. - what an education!!!. . .okay gotta run but much of life is going on.  . .enrichment is the word as spring is soon to be sprung in this city of anghels. . .. xoxoxooxoxo
